So, I have been working on another project and just launched it last weekend before seeing Dave Matthews Band and Phish at Fenway Park. It was a bit of a rushed launch but I wanted to get it out before these shows and a few this summer that I will be road tripping to. So I invite everyone to check it out and find your next road trip at StubStreet. Enter the Code: ASPROCKET for a chance to win an iPod. We will be giving away tickets sometime too but iPods for now.

Do you have issues using Facebook? Here are some of mine that make it suck.

Design
There is too much white space and scattered functions.

Policy
You can only be in one regional network at a time. Since I seem to be moving every 6 months this is a problem because I want to be in more than one regional network.

Hairy URLs
This is probably due to the fact that facebook is a username less system. Everyone always gives their full name and you end up with an ID instead much like any economic slave system.

Yes, that string soup is my profile page.

Ads
Non-relevant ads always suck.

Twitter Copy
Copied twitter’s “What are you doing?” status question with “What’s on your mind?”.

Errors

So I updated iTunes and maybe didn’t realize it before, it may have been released in an earlier version, anyway, there is a DJ function. This is a special playlist. Well I found a few problems with it as it is not very intuitive. You are suppose to be able to use it with the Remote application for the iPhone or iPod touch. I have gotten the Remote app to crash a few times. Maybe due to my 300+ GB music library. This could be the new age digital jukebox. Easily setup in a business or restaurant and would allow everyone to request a song without getting out of your seat.

However….this restaurant biz will have to wait.

When you connect to an iTunes library with Remote it’s not apparent what is playing and if the server is playing from the DJ list. When in Remote, you have to click on the DJ “playlist”. Then you can Edit and Add songs, not “Request” songs as mentioned in the Help. When you Add a song it adds it to the end of the playlist. On the server it should say that this was added by “iPhone name” or “IP Address” or even alert the serving computer that a song was added. But none of this happens it just adds to the end of the list.

I also tried using this with the Airport Extreme, this crashes after a few seconds and disconnects. This was working before the 8.1 update.

Anyway that’s my beef.

There is a Facebook app called tweeter. My problem with this is it just syncs your Twitter message with your Facebook status or vice versa. What it should do is be an audible twitter as the name implies. So say it don’t type it! This would allow for a more authentic communication. You can always convert speech to text. How easy is it to forge a Twitter message? Almost as easy as an email? Probably. It’s just text and anyone can be forged. But make it audible, now your talking. Pun intended.
