I am going to be out of town during the election so I went through the process of getting an Absentee ballot. I had the option of mailing in an application and receiving a ballot. Instead I was able to go to the local voter registration office and fill out the application and vote on the stop. I had the option of an electronic vote or the old school ballot vote. Neither option would give me a receipt or proof that I voted so I took it upon myself to record the moment.
I chose the paper ballot and shook my head in dismay as I looked at the one lonely Diebold! voting machine. I can’t believe this company is still around and the stupid state gov’t and our tax dollars are buying this shit. Since most of us know about the corrupt code and backend issues with these machines. Recently Bank of America got an upgrade to their ATM machines from guess who, yup, they are now branded with Diebold. I blame the banking crash and recession on Diebold. They let Bush into office and now the banking system is crashing. If you look deeper you can find more diabolic associations with Diebold.
Anyway, get out and vote! but use the paper ballot and ask for a receipt. You won’t get one but you may get an inquisitive reaction.
